The Land of Eem, often summed up as Muppets meet Lord of the Rings, but that's not all. It is a one of the great examples of what sometimes gets termed NSR. Old-school without the orthodoxy. A few years back this may have been sword dream. What I mean is it takes the simplicity of old-school play, but allows rules to encourage the development of emergent narratives.
For instance, check out the encounter structure. Every round there is a parley segment. When the game includes talking in the rules, your characters are going to end up doing some talking. And this is how you get nemesises? Nemeses? Enemies who are despicable. I saw that new Daffy Duck Porky Pig movie.
And check out that killer gameboard hexmap. This taking it back, way back, back into time, when the only map that existed was Wilderness Survival.
But this has a giant book of what is in those hexes. Quests, dungeons, rumors. Many of the monsters in the bestiary have vulnerabilities, the weak spot that can make things easier if discovered. Or what happens upon defeat of a monster.
