The wicked baron bade you fetch him this treasure. "Though the portal or to the gallows." The choice was simple. 

And so you tumble through a gash in the sky, falling towards a sea, sinister red.

Sinister Red is an old-school fantasy adventure for your fantasy rpg system of choice. Stat blocks are designed around OD&D, Old School Essentials, and the Black Hack.

What's the Story?

The players take on the role of motley adventurers thrown into a strange realm in search of treasure, only to discover there is little to exploit and no apparent means to return. Thus their journey quickly becomes one of escape and survival, in a nightmare world of vampiric monstrosities.

What's the Format?

Sinister Red is a point-crawl adventure across a coagulated sea of blood. Adventurers will explore an ominous island with a skeletal coast. Traverse strange and deadly caves. Explore a blasted city and ascend a tower of mirrored glass. 

What's a point-crawl?

A point-crawl is an alternative method for overland adventures. While a typical old school adventure might have the players exploring a hex-map, hex by hex, a point-crawl distills that down to points of interest on the map, with the pathways connecting these nodes mostly predefined.
