About the Game:
FRONTIER SCUM is a rules-lite Acid Western roleplaying game. An auto-destructive, violent and LSD-infused take on Spaghetti Westerns, about wanted outlaws making their mark on an unreal Lost Frontier. Probably getting shot before having the chance to shoot. A rough-and-tumble world of insatiable greed where scum live one slug from the grave. Inspired by such things as El Topo, Dead Man, and Bone Tomahawk.
Inside you will find all the rules you need to play, guidelines for creating characters along with their guns and stolen horses, an introduction to the Lost Frontier, a complete adventure 'Escape the Organ Rail', and tons of inspiration tables & tools for NPCs, hunting, carousing, bounties, odd jobs, loot and strange relics.
The Team:
Written & designed by Karl Druid.
Setting text by Brian Yaksha.
Additional art by Chalkdown and Skullfungus.
Edited by Walton Wood.
64 pages, A5 size, raw hardback mounted on an exposed binding, high-quality print and paper. PDF included.
What sets Frontier Scum apart at first sight is its stellar art direction and unique presentation. The smyth-sewn binding and Exposed book boards give it a vintage feel. I can’t wait to bring it to the table .
An awesome rendition of an Acid Western TTRPG, rules are light and easy to pick up. The reference pages in the back are excellent when running the game as a GM, the tables, character creation and tidbits give plenty of items for running some great games. Takes a lot of what I love from Mork Borg and gives it a wonderful set of rules for western themed gameplay. The production of this book is incredible, has a great feel and the quality is exceptional.
Great starter for your “man vs nature”, Faulkner-esque, harrowing experience of life in an unforgiving western setting.
I reckon this'n here is as
Awesome production on this book. Love the pulpy feel of the cover and the thematic artwork. Also more rpgs need to do the spineless thing so it lays flat.
