About Another Bug Hunt:
Another Bug Hunt is the official introductory adventure for Mothership. The players' crew is tasked with re-establishing communications with a remote terraforming colony. However, when they arrive it appears that the colony has suffered a violent attack and no one is to be found. From the award-winning Mothership team.
Another Bug Hunt includes:
-
Four interconnected scenarios, stitched together into a micro-campaign. Each can be played in roughly 3-6 hours.
-
Tutorials and guidance one how to run your first game of Mothership.
-
A brand new alien species: the Carcinids.
-
Three competing factions, each presenting their own tough choices for the players to make.
- A challenging but fair introduction to Mothership® for RPG veterans or rookies.
Themes include:
Arachnophobia. The carcinids have elements of giant insects, spiders, and crabs.
Body horror. Amputations, rot, organ-removal, and others nightmarish events.
Mind control. Mental enslavement and agency removal are key plot elements, along
with psychic intrusion that resemble elements of real-life psychiatric disorders.
Violence. Combat, suicide by firearm, emotional trauma, and corpses feature heavily. • Claustrophobia and other environmental hazards (such as drowning) are common.
